Repentance is fundamental to biblical teaching. Unfortunately, repentance is taught less often than it has been in decades past because of a doctrine that I like to call "self-help Christianity." Repentance, however, is necessary for our very salvation. Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the """Lord""" Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." The lordship of Jesus is a requirement for a relationship with Him. "Well, the Bible says just believe," you might say. Well, James says, 2:19 says "... the devils also believe, and tremble." Repentance is God's desire for the world. He is not willing that any person should perish, but that all should come to "repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Watch...
